Affogato al Caffe means “drowned in coffee” and it’s the vanilla ice cream that’s usually drowned. For this recipe I’m using my delicious vegan vanilla ice cream. Put one scoop of ice cream into a glass, make hot espresso (I’m using Illy espresso made in Lelit Victoria machine) and pour it over the frozen scoop of ice cream. Ice cream will start to melt under the hot liquid and the two ingredients will eventually fuse together.

This is a fun drink or dessert that’s prepared really fast. You can of course use store bought vegan vanilla ice cream but if you made my recipe for vegan vanilla ice cream do try it in this drink, it’s really amazing.

Ingredients
- 1 scoop vegan vanilla ice cream
- 1 shot espresso
Instructions
- Put one scoop of vegan vanilla ice cream in a small glass.
- Pour hot espresso over it.
- Serve immediately.
