Vegan Meatball Sub

This sandwich is a delicious comfort food, made with a combination of homemade and store bought ingredients. For the bread I’m making my own baguette at home and I also make my own flavourful marinara. Stuff the inside of sandwich with store bought or homemade vegan meatballs and slices of vegan provolone or vegan mozzarella cheese.

The time spent in kitchen will vary depending on which ingredients you choose to make at home. You can prepare them in advance and then just assemble them in a couple of minutes.

This completely vegan meatball sub is a delicious comfort food, made with homemade baguette, homemade marinara, vegan meatballs and melted vegan mozzarella or vegan provolone.

  • 1/3 baguette
  • 1/4 marinara sauce
  • 3 vegan meatballs store bought or homemade
  • 2 slices vegan mozzarella or vegan provolone


  • First make homemade baguette or use a store bought one.
  • Prepare homemade marinara sauce.
  • Prepare store bought or homemade vegan meatballs. Mix them with marinara sauce and coat them with it.
  • Assemble all together. Slice 1/3 baguette but don't cut it completely so that the bottom and upper part of bread are still holding together. Spread marinara sauce on bottom and top part of inner side of bread. Place three vegan meatballs on the bottom part of bread. Place vegan mozzarella or vegan provolone on top of vegan meatballs.
  • Put the sandwich in the oven at 230 °C for about 10 min so that the vegan cheese melts and the bread is toasted (and in the case if you are using marinara and vegan meatballs that were stored in the fridge, to warm up those ingredients).
