Enjoy the benefits of turmeric with this calming latte that can be prepared warm for colder months or chilled for summer months. The sweetness comes from medjool dates while cashew butter brings the creaminess that makes this vegan turmeric latte not just healthy but also super tasty.
240 ml (1 cup)unsweetened soy, cashew, almond or oat milk
1 tspturmeric powder
18 g (1 tbsp)roasted cashew butter
1medjool datepitted
1/8 tspvanilla powder
1/8 tspCeylon cinnamon powder
1/8 tspginger powderor substitute with a piece of fresh ginger
1/6 tspfreshly ground black pepper
Optional topping:
a sprinkle ofCeylon cinnamon powder
Instructions
Put all ingredients in a blender and mix well together.
Warm latte on the stove but don't make it too hot. Mix while you're heating it so it doesn't stick to the bottom. If you wish to make iced latte (perfect for those hot summer days) add some ice cubes to the glass and pour the latte over it instead of heating it.
Pour into a cup and sprinkle cinnamon on top if desired.
Notes
*Do not skip on black pepper as it helps for better absorption of turmeric. Make sure that black pepper is freshly ground. Turmeric also breaks down and dissolves in fat. That's why it's good to have healthy fats from cashew butter in this drink.
