This creamy vegan matcha latte is a delightful drink full of antioxidants. Matcha powder is really good for your health and this drink is a perfect way to incorporate it in your every day routine. The creaminess in this latte coming from plant based milk and cashew butter gives a matcha powder the right contrast to make it very enjoyable to drink. While coffee gives you an instant kick of energy, this delicious latte will give you a consistent energy throughout the day. Because of the healthy fats in this latte that are satiating this matcha latte can also be a light breakfast meal if you are not really that hungry in the morning.

This vegan matcha latte is sweetened with medjool dates which means that it is refined sugar free. The addition of cashew butter and vanilla powder mellows the matcha taste that can be a bit rough on its own. For the plant based milk in this latte the best choices are cashew and almond milk as they give it the finest taste. If you wish you can make your own plant based milk at home.

The preparation for this warming drink is very simple, just mix everything together in a blender then warm it over the stove (but don’t boil it). Optionally sprinkle some matcha powder on top. You can make it also cold in the summer months. In this case skip the heating, use chilled plant based milk from the fridge and add some ice cubes to the latte.

Vegan Matcha Latte (GF)
Ingredients
- 240 ml (1 cup) unsweetened cashew or almond milk
- 1 tsp matcha powder
- 12 g (2 tsp) roasted cashew butter
- 1 medjool date pitted
- 1/4 tsp vanilla powder
Optional decoration:
- a sprinkle of matcha powder
Instructions
- Put all ingredients in a blender and mix well.
- Pour the latte in a pot and heat it over the stove. Don't boil it.
- Transfer the latte into a cup and sprinkle some matcha powder on top if desired.
- For the iced matcha latte, skip the heating, make sure to use chilled plant based milk from the fridge and pour the content from the blender into a glass with ice cubes.
