Sweet Toast Ideas (V)

Sweet toast is one of those meals that’s very easy to prepare but also very delicious and satisfying. It’s also almost always available in hotels at breakfast as a vegan option. So when you just need a quick breakfast or snack or when there’s nothing else available, sweet toast with perhaps some coffee can be a great solution. My favourite bread to make sweet toast with is baguette, followed by oat bran bagel.

Growing up in Slovenia I don’t remember hearing about the classic peanut butter and jam sandwich or peanut butter and banana sandwich. Only in recent years I got to try them and are now my favourite combinations. Check below which brands of peanut butter and jam I like the best. Since I discovered Biscoff spread I found it also works well as a replacement for peanut butter on toast with banana. Vegan Nutella is an amazing spread on its own or you could pair it with a banana or strawberry jam. Valsoia is my favourite plant based chocolate hazelnut spread. Another classic that can’t be missed is vegan butter and jam where you can experiment with different jams that are available in stores. My favourites are strawberry, black currant and fig jam.

Besides these staple combinations I propose some other alternatives to try. For example, there are many other nut butters that are super delicious with strawberry jam, like almond, macadamia and hazelnut butter. Peanut butter and banana toast:

  • peanut butter I enjoy brands ültje and Reese's
  • banana sliced
  • hemp seeds optional

Vegan butter and jam toast:

  • vegan butter I love Vegan Spreadable from Naturli
  • favourite jam I like the best strawberry jam, black currant jam, fig jam

Biscoff spread and banana toast:

  • Biscoff spread
  • banana sliced

Vegan Nutella and banana toast (or just vegan Nutella):

Vegan Nutella and strawberry jam toast:

  • homemade vegan Nutella or use bought one (I love Valsoia chocolate hazelnut spread)
  • strawberry jam I love brands To Filema Tis Lelas and St. Dalfour

Biscoff spread and fig toast:

  • Biscoff spread
  • fresh sliced fig or fig jam

Three spreads toast:

  • Biscoff spread
  • homemade vegan Nutella or use bought one (I love Valsoia chocolate hazelnut spread)
  • peanut butter I love Richer Roast peanut butter from Meridian
  • banana optional

Hazelnut butter and strawberry jam toast:

  • hazelnut butter

Hazelnut butter, fig jam and lavender toast:

  • hazelnut butter
  • fig jam
  • edible lavender buds
  • fresh blackberries and blueberries optional

Tahini and fig toast:

  • tahini
  • fresh sliced fig or fig jam

Almond butter and jam toast:

  • almond butter
  • cherry / apricot / peach / strawberry jam I love brands To Filema Tis Lelas and St. Dalfour

Pecan butter and jam toast:

  • pecan butter

Macadamia nut butter and strawberry jam toast:

  • macadamia nut butter

Vegan cottage cheese and jam toast:

  • vegan cottage cheese
  • maple syrup
  • strawberry or fig jam I love brands To Filema Tis Lelas and St. Dalfour

Instructions
 

Peanut butter and jam toast:

  • Spread peanut butter over the bread and spread jam on top of that.

Peanut butter and banana toast:

  • Spread peanut butter over the bread then place banana slices on top of it. Sprinkle some hemp seeds on top if desired.

Vegan butter and jam toast:

  • Spread vegan butter over the bread then spread your favourite jam on top of that.

Biscoff spread and banana toast:

  • Spread Biscoff over the bread then place banana slices on top of it.

Vegan Nutella and banana toast (or just vegan Nutella):

  • Spread vegan Nutella over the bread then place sliced banana on top (or skip the banana for pure vegan Nutella taste).

Vegan Nutella and strawberry jam toast:

  • Spread vegan Nutella over the bread and spread strawberry jam on top of that.

Biscoff spread and fig toast:

  • Spread Biscoff over the bread, place sliced fig or spread fig jam on top.

Three spreads toast:

  • Spread all three spreads in equal parts over the bread. If desired, place sliced banana on top.

Hazelnut butter and strawberry jam toast:

  • Spread hazelnut butter over the bread and spread strawberry jam on top of that.

Hazelnut butter, fig jam and lavender toast:

  • Spread hazelnut butter over the bread, spread fig jam on top of that, sprinkle dried edible lavender buds and also berries, if desired.

Tahini and fig toast:

  • Spread tahini over the bread and place sliced fig or spread fig jam on top.

Almond butter and jam toast:

  • Spread almond butter over the bread and spread jam of choice on top of that.

Pecan butter and jam toast:

  • Spread pecan butter over the bread and spread jam of choice on top of that.

Macadamia nut butter and strawberry jam toast:

  • Spread macadamia nut butter over the bread and spread strawberry jam on top of that.

Vegan cottage cheese and jam toast:

  • Make vegan cottage cheese and sweeten it with some maple syrup. Spread it on bread then spread jam on top of that.
