Lebanese Meze or Bowl (V)

Lebanese meze is an incredibly delicious collection of dishes that are in a great flavour harmony together. The dishes that I include in my meze are: tabbouleh salad, fattoush salad, falafel balls, hummus, baba ganoush, tahini sauce, tahini and carob molasses and pita bread. This is a really great meal to serve when you’re hosting many guests. The guests get a great feeling of sharing because everybody takes a little bit of every dish. If you prepare this Lebanese meze for just one or two people you can serve it already put together in one or two bowls respectively.

Let’s have a closer look at the dishes on this menu. Hummus is a creamy spread made with chickpeas, tahini and lemon juice. All three ingredients are perfectly balanced in my hummus so that no ingredient dominates over the others. Cumin is the spice that ties all the ingredients together. Baba ganoush is another incredible creamy spread with similar ingredients to hummus but chickpeas are replaced with roasted aubergines.

Tabbouleh is a refreshing salad made with fresh parsley, cherry tomatoes and bulgur. Romaine lettuce is used for decoration of this salad. Fattoush is also a delicious salad made with chopped romaine lettuce, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and toasted pita bread.

My baked falafel is made with dried chickpeas, parsley, mint, onion and garlic, with spices like cumin and coriander shining through. Tahini sauce is a creamy sauce made with tahini and lemon juice that you can drizzle over falafel balls. Tahini and carob molasses is a dip made of tahini and carob syrup in which you can dip pita bread.
